Mr. Larry E. Brice Jr.

Larry Evans Brice, Jr. of Alexandria, Virginia, transitioned on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, after a brief illness. He was the last of four children born to the late Larry E. and Marion E. Brice. Larry was born on May 20, 1950, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. As a military dependent, he attended many schools across the United States and overseas. His education began at Hamilton Elementary in Harrisburg and continued in Georgia, New Jersey, Germany, Kentucky and other locations. These experiences helped shape Larry into a strong, adaptable, and well-rounded individual. Larry’s Christian life grew alongside his travels, beginning at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Harrisburg, where he was baptized. He attended many churches and chapels as his family moved from one military station to another. He was confirmed in the Episcopalian Church during his teen years in Heidelberg, Germany. As a child, he enjoyed sports, skating, swimming, and playing the drums. His love for music continued into adulthood, where he became known as a talented dancer and DJ. His DJ tag was “Triple L,” short for Ladies Love Larry. He was known by many for his lively personality behind the music. Larry was also an avid football fan who deeply loved the Washington Commanders, and he took great joy in watching Sunday night football and celebrating the sport he cherished so much. His joyful spirit made him the life of every gathering he attended. After moving to Alexandria, Larry worked at Fort Belvoir Hospital and later joined Fairfax County Public Schools as a custodian. He eventually built a long and proud career at the Alexandria City Police Department, serving for 26 years. Larry lived by the lessons his parents taught him: if you do a job, do it well, be proud of what you do, and let your work represent who you are. His coworkers often remarked that they saw these values in everything he touched. After retiring, Larry was able to spend more time doing everything he truly enjoyed. He often spent his evenings listening to music, watching movies, and reading the Bible as he grew even closer to God. Traveling continued to be a major part of his life, and he enjoyed taking numerous cruises to different places. He also loved attending concerts and seeing some of his favorite artists perform. Retirement brought him deep joy and peace, allowing him to fill his days with the things that made him happiest. Larry was preceded in death by his sisters, Tina Isaac and Grace Bailey, and by his brothers-in-law, Roland Bowie and Jack Isaac. He leaves to cherish his memory one son,Dwayne McClain, one sister, Marie Brice-Bowie, and one brother-in-law, Major Bailey. He isalso survived by one granddaughter, Imani Tynes McClain. In addition, Larry leaves behind a host of nieces,, nephews and cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews, and many other loving relatives. He is also remembered fondly by former coworkers and countless friends. Larry will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He was the epitome of love and energy. His memories will be forever cherished.
