Mrs. Joni Delores Diggs

Joni Diggs was born on February 7, 1955, in Brooklyn, New York to Charles and Edwina Hill. She spent her early years living in Brooklyn where she attended Sarah J Hale High School. Although her love for New York was strong, she moved to Alexandria, Virginia at the age of 19. Joni pursued her love for hair for a couple of years and then discovered her passion for the Dry-Cleaning Industry. She worked at Anton’s Cleaners for many years as a pressing specialist. She continued to work and manage many other cleaner establishments until ultimately landing at Dutch Girl Cleaners where she worked until her last days. Once settled in Virginia, she soon met her husband Lloyd Diggs Jr. They married on September 3, 1987, and remained married for 37 years. Joni together with her husband had four children. She loved her family enormously. To know Joni was to love her. She had a heart of gold. She would give the shirt off her back for anyone who needed it to include people who are not blood. She opened her home and her heart to many, and she is loved for acts of kindness. Joni was the life of the party. She enjoyed dancing to include the “scoot booty” and drilled “Don’t stop your love” by Keith Sweat into everyone’s ears and hearts. She recently added Bruno Mars to her list of songs that she danced to continuously. Joni will forever dance in our hearts as we continue to remember her. Joni suddenly passed to be with the Lord on February 24, 2025. She is preceded in death by both parents Charles and Edwina Hill, her brother; Ronnie Hill, her sister; Clarissa Hill and bonus child; Lloyd Diggs III. Those left to cherish her memory are, husband Lloyd Diggs Jr.; three daughters; Keshana Hill, Jonique Price (Samuel Price), Mylindra Diggs (Tina Diggs); one son; Guy Hill; bonus daughter; Stacey Rue, nine grandchildren; Keshon Carter, Najear Carter, Amare Price, Elijah Price, Grayson Price, Bryson Price, Amiyah Hill, Aiden Hill, Cameron Hill; two brothers; Guy Hill-Worrells, Willie Lee; a sister; Victoria Alston; four nieces; Taraya Parrish, Rayanna Alson, Charlisa Alston, Aajaylaya Alson, two nephews; Benjamin Alston, KJ Alston, uncle; James “Rant” Faison and a host of other family and close friends.
