Arthur Cotton Sr.

Arthur Cotton, Sr. was born to the late Gurney and Mary Elizabeth Cotton on March 2, 1919 in Rockingham County, Reidsville, North Carolina. He was a bright student of the public school system then later became employed with the city Tobacco Factory. He faithfully served his country as an Enlisted World War II Veteran of the United States Navy. Arthur Cotton, Sr. attended Cornerstone Church in Alexandria, Virginia under the Pastoral leadership of his son, Pastor Arthur Cotton, Jr. and First Lady Hattie Cotton. He leaves to rejoice in his memory three children; two loving daughters, Missionary Louise Lovelace (deceased-Clevester Lovelace) and Pastor Lorene Poindexter (Bishop Carver Poindexter) and one son Pastor Arthur Cotton Jr. (Mother Hattie Cotton). He was the proud grandfather of twelve grandchildren, twenty-nine great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren and countless other family members and friends. He is survived by two of five siblings, Ivadell Graves and Pastor James Floyd Cotton. The viewing will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12 noon. Interment, Quantico National Cemetery, Triangle, Va on Monday, November 25, 2013 at 11:00 a.m.
