Mr. Willis Howard Parker Jr.

Willis Howard Parker Jr, was the second of five children born to Willis Howard Sr. and Dorothy Anetta (Bundick) Parker. He was born on January 7, 1957, in Salisbury, MD, and lived a life of service, joy, and blessings until he was called home on August 17, 2026, in Fairfax, VA. Before internet dating was the norm, Willis met Pamela Teresa Curtis online, and they married in 1999. From then until Pam’s passing on September 7, 2017, they were inseparable. Willis graduated from Wicomico Senior High School in Salisbury, Maryland in 1975. After graduation, he attended Salisbury State College (University), where he was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity and a DJ on the college radio station. He later attended and graduated from Stockton University in Galloway Township, NJ. A devoted member of the Church of God and Saints of Christ, Willis served many years as a Deacon in the Salisbury, Maryland tabernacle and Head Deacon in the Alexandria, Virginia, tabernacle. He was also a member of the General Deacons’ Board and spent over 20 years traveling the country in support of the evangelical ministry alongside his brother James and Deacon Richard Cunningham. For the final 12 years, Willis’ nephew Ethan joined them. Fondly known as Mr. Magic, Willis performed his highly anticipated magic shows during our national Annual Assembly. At every performance, Rabbi Curtis Caldwell and his mother, St. Dorothy Parker, were honored with VIP seating. He entertained members of all ages. When he visited various tabernacles, the children were overjoyed and greeted him as Mr. Magic rather than Deacon Parker !! Willis volunteered to serve his country and joined the United States Air Force. After completing basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, TX, he attended Officer Training School at Chanute Air Force Base in Rantoul, IL, achieving the rank of Airman First Class. Willis was proud of his military service and regularly wore his Air Force sweatshirt and Veteran’s hat. Pam shared his patriotic duty as a US Marine Corps veteran. On Veterans Day, they would plan which restaurants to visit to receive their well-deserved free meal (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) and expressions of gratitude for their service. After his military service, Willis had a distinguished career in financial aid administration at institutions of higher learning. Rising through the ranks and recognized for his fervent desire to help people, he held the position of Director of Financial Aid at Washington School of Secretaries, Southeastern University, and the University of the District of Columbia. His staff and students became lifelong friends, reaching out with encouraging words throughout his time of illness and expressing their gratitude for the positive and lasting impact he had on their lives. He shared his professional expertise with the House of Israel. He assisted members in the United States and Jamaica. Deacon Willis worked tirelessly with Rabbi James Young to assist students on the continent of Africa to achieve their educational goals, dreams, and desires. Willis loved playing tennis and billiards, and he was an unwavering Washington Commanders fan. He was also an avid collector of autographed books, comic books, and sports memorabilia. Willis and Pam loved spending hours in thrift stores, looking for and finding quality items at bargain prices. Thanks to the selfless gift of a kidney from Tyechia Norman in 2011, the Lord extended Willis’ life. Willis was truly grateful for his personal physician, confidant, and friend, Dr. Jean Estime, and his sister-in-law, Lea Lea, who regularly checked in on him and showed care that can only come from family. Willis is predeceased by his parents, Willis Sr. and Dorothy Parker, his loving wife Pamela, and son Charles Plinton. He is survived by his daughters, Richonda and Richa (Asa). Siblings, Renee (Angelo), Wilhelmina (Jerry), Esther, James (Regina Lovey). Grandchildren, Sophia and Zoe, Paige, David Jr, Asa Jr., Karma, and Greg. Sister-in-law, Altheia Dunn (Sylvester Jr.), St Erin Brent, St. Jayda Brent; goddaughters. A host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family, friends, and loving church family.
