George A. Smith Jr.

George A. Smith, Jr. was born on June 19, 1956. He was born to George A. Smith, Sr.. and Fannie Kate Smith. He departed this life and entered into the arms of his Lord, Savior,and best friend, JESUS CHRIST, on Monday, November 30, 2015. At a very young age, George became a Christian through his upbringing in Bethlehem Baptist Church in Gum Springs, Alexandria, VA. Where both his father Rev. George A. Smith, Sr. and brother Greg Smith were Pastors. Little did any of us know, how awesome a testimony of his life was. George rededicated his Life to CHRIST as an adult. As some of you know how he would just “WOO” you on Social Media and Oh, boy did he always have a story to tell. George was educated in the Alexandria Virginia School System. He attended Ft. Hunt High School and later transferred and graduated from T.C. Williams. Go Titans! In 1977 George enlisted in the U.S. Army to serve our Country with the understanding that he was giving his life to his Country. As a young adult the family relocated to Woodbridge, VA where they attended First Mt. Zion Church in Dumfries, VA. George A. Smith, Jr. aka (“DUNNIE”) but most was known as (“Mr. GQ”) himself. He had a sense for fashion as you all know him. “Enough Said”… Right? The apple didn’t fall too far from the tree. He developed his style of dressing & fashion from George, Sr. With his great wit for food as well. He and his daughter Jordan would be on the telephone but watching cooking and food shows. So, when he would brag on Social Medial what he had cooked. “Show-Off”, yes he was that and would be competitive with his daughter in their dishes while watching Bobby Flay. He was known for his kindness, warm heart, compassion and loyalty. Most of all, he was handsome and very charming!!!!!! Or should we say very conceded and kind of stuck on himself. His smile and willingness to help others was another of his many wonderful characteristics.George was so super talented and held many types of jobs, such as a Car Salesman for Carfax, he sold I.T. Software. He was a great entrepreneur where he was self employed. He sold clothes, purses, perfume, etc… He later worked for Veterans Administration, where he had fallen ill. Even, through his health challenges he still maintained his loving ways. You just had to admire him for who he was even with his charismatic ways and wouldn’t you know it, even from the hospital bed he took many selfies of himself. He would post to Facebook and mesmerize you with all of his stories. Boy, did he really love himself ALOT!!!!!!! It’s not a joke he really did and you have to know him to understand the true meaning. Wouldn’t you know that he past that gene to his daughter. Yep, he sure did curse her in the very same manner. Some of their poses are identical, the leaning of the head to the side, poking of the lips, the best side to check out their composures. Ha... and don’t forget the hair thing. Uh Huh!!! Did you check out the waves or did you get sea sick or this one is the best one you might drown if you touch my waves or curly hair, I can be slick and straight hair as well. We just saying look at his beautiful daughter. Hew as so proud of her. George, Jr. loved to sing and play music, sometimes he was so competitive to try and out sing people. He would tell you, Oh, you don’t know nothing about that song. He had his little“ DOOWHOP” Group. Ooops, we mean BAND. Ok, you “REAL” George Fans, know him by his style of Poetry, Wisdom and Wealth of Knowledge. He just loved to talk trash to folks and loved his REDSKINS TEAM. #HTTR!!! He hated the cowboys and didn’t mind sharing with you about any sport. He also had a way of making everyone feel like they were “His Most Favorite.” As small children he loved to play Blind man, Blind man Bluff, Hide and Seek with his cousins. "Dunnie" left behind an abundance of love and inspiration to fill the hearts of his love ones. He was preceded in death by his Son: Ryan Smith, his parents George A. Smith Sr. and Frannie Kate Smith. George leaves to mourn his death, but to cherish his precious memories, his loving daughter, Jordan Smith, his Grandson, Elijah Bates, Sister, Carrie Smith, Brothers, Kevin Smith, Greg Smith and a loving and devoted host of cousins and many devoted friends.
