Cleveland Lee Spruill Jr.

Cleveland Lee Spruill, Jr. “C.J.” son of Kimberly Faith Terrell-Spruill and Cleveland Lee Spruill, Sr was born in Arlington County, Virginia on July 21, 1992. C.J. as he was affectionately known, spent his early years in Alexandria and Prince William County, Virginia. He attended Prince William County Public Schools, graduating from Woodbridge High School in 2010. While in high school, C.J. was a member of the crew team and participated in the Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) program. Following high school, C.J. attended Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia and graduated in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. C.J. joined the United States Army in 2020 and was a Paratrooper and Battlefield Medic with the 82nd Airborne Division. C.J. completed more than twenty parachute jumps from a variety of aircrafts. In 2022, C.J. was deployed to Warsaw, Poland as part of the U.S. contingent supporting Ukraine in the Russia - Ukraine War Conflict. C.J. attained the rank of Specialist 4th Class and served with distinction in the Army until 2023 when he was honorably discharged. Upon his departure from the Army, C.J. continued his formal education, enrolling at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) in Richmond, Virginia. While attending VCU, C.J. participated in the study abroad program in Athens, Greece. All who knew C.J. were aware of his kind and generous soul. He was a loving and gentle person with a warm personality and a smile that brightened everyone’s day. C.J. was adventurous, he loved the beach, hiking, boating and nature but most of all he truly enjoyed spending time with his family. Cleveland Lee Spruill, Jr. “C.J.” entered eternal rest on July 14, 2025. He leaves to cherish his loving mother, Kimberly Faith Terrell-Spruill of Woodbridge, Virginia his devoted father Cleveland Lee Spruill, Sr. (Nicole) of Frederick, Maryland, siblings, Erin Soriano of Gainesville, Virginia, Brandon Spruill of Woodbridge, Virginia, grandmother, Pauline Terrell of Alexandria, Virginia, step-siblings, Nicolas Webster of Linganore, Maryland, Kevin Webster of Cary, North Carolina, aunt, Alice Robinson of Richmond, Virginia, uncles, Kawaski Sparrow of Alexandria, Virginia and Alvin Spruill of Woodbridge, Virginia, nieces, Giada Soriano and Shae Nuzum of Gainesville, Virginia, special aunties, Tanya Gunn-Anderson of Bowie, Maryland and Christie Lee of Greensboro, North Carolina and godmother Tamitha Davis-Rama of Greenbelt, Maryland and numerous other relatives and friends.
