Celebrating the life of Atiba Senghor Turner “To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord” II Corinthians 5:8 Atiba Senghor Turner was born in Arlington, VA on July 11, 1974, to the proud parents of Alex B Colvin Jr. and Elouise Turner. Atiba had four (4) sisters, Saundra Turner, Patricia (Fatty) Lomax, Kemba Colvin, Vanessa Colvin and four (4) brothers, Dennis Turner (deceased), Jawanza Colvin, Alex B Colvin, III and Mark Colvin. Atiba went to public schools (elementary and middle) and later attended private school for high school at St. Stephens where he played football in Alexandria VA. After graduating from High School, Atiba joined and served in the United States Army! After his honorable discharge from the United States Army, Atiba returned to Alexandria, VA. In 2001, Atiba married Sharon Moore and settled in Alexandria, VA. From this marriage, Atiba gained two beautiful bonus daughters, Essence and Shalin. Years later, Atiba experienced fatherhood with the birth of his two (2) beautiful daughters Aliya and Joanne!! Atiba was a huge and loyal Washington Redskins (Commanders) fan! He loved to watch the burgundy and gold!!! Especially when the team was playing Dallas as he would go head-to-head with his nephew John (one of the very few Dallas fans in the family). Atiba knew how to have a good time! He loved his nephews and nieces, as he was a big kid at heart!! Atiba accepted Christ by joining the Love of Christ church in Alexandria, VA and the Apostle Walk Ministries church in La Plata, MD. A Life that will be Forever Missed But Never Forgotten Our beloved Atiba Senghor Turner answered our Heavenly Father’s call to rest his earthly labor on May 11, 2023. Atiba leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted mother Elouise Turner; his father Alex B Colvin Jr; his wife Sharon Turner; two (2) daughters, Aliya and Joanne; seven (7) siblings Saundra, Patricia, Jawanza, Kemba, Alex, Mark and Vanessa, a loving family that consists of aunts and uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
